This past Thursday and Friday, we had outstanding FCA huddles at the Fitzgerald campus and Loyola campus. At our Fitzgeald Huddle, Mr. Landkamer spoke so well on always giving your best whether you are in the classroom, on the athletic field, or participating in the fine arts. Friday, Mary Weber gave a beautiful presentation to well over 30 student/athletes and adults. She spoke about mistakes and how we as individuals respond to them. We had superb participation by all who attended. Mrs. Reinbold spoke very well on the classroom aspect of mistakes, and Coach Forrey and Coach Landkamer spoke to the group how to best handle mistakes and ways to deal with them. I was so impressed by our turnout and how our students profess the word of God through their speech in front of their peers. I want to let you know that everyone is invited to attend these meetings. Adults, Parents, Teachers, Coaches are all welcome! We also invite you to participate in our after game FCA huddles. It just makes me shiver to see all the people automatically come down to the football for these huddles. It makes me feel very proud of our Loyola community in their faith and school spirit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BONFIRE AT THE LAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mary Weber and Elizabeth Karp, our huddle captains, are working on the details for our first "annual" Loyola FCA huddle bonfire to be held out at Mr. Biehns' lakeland on Lake Jefferson on Friday, October 24th. The time has been set for a 7pm -- FCA huddle followed by our bonfire with food, beverages, and music! This will go from 7pm till midnight. What a great idea the girls developed for us. A great bonding moment for all who will attend. There will be bus provided by Mr. Mettler for those who would prefer not to drive.

God Bless you and your Families!!!!!!!!!!!

Our FCA programs had their initial huddles last week at Fitzgerald and at Loyola. Both huddles were outstanding with tremendous participation! We continue to grow in Gods' love through our actions and words. I am continuously amazed at how our youth are so willing to share their thoughts and words openly to each other. Our huddles are being captained this year by senior Mary Weber at Loyola and eighth grader Connor Tanhoff at Fitzgerald.

Our next huddles are this Thursday at Fitzgerald at 2:20 pm in the gym and Friday at 7:20am at the Loyola campus in the conference room area. We invite you to come and attend these. We also invite you to join our FCA Football and Volleyball huddles immediately after each home and away game. What a great way to promote school spirit and identity!

God Bless your family this school year!

Mrs. Reinbold, Mr. Landkamer, Mr. Biehn

FCA Football Huddle!

FCA Notes!

We had a great High School FCA huddle today, March 7th. Mr . Landkamer spoke about our roots in faith in Christ. It was a great morning of fellowship between 18 student/athletes and adults. There were many things shared by all. I am very impressed by the continuous efforts of our students who rise and shine for the Lord! What a great way for all of us to start the day! Those of us who attended the last regular season basketball game and stayed for our home FCA huddle after the game were witnesses to a very moving sight. As our Loyola huddle captain Brian Brandt prepared to read the Competitors Creed, there were several Lake Crystal players who stayed to participate. One of their players shared in the reading. What a cool thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe @ the next huddle, Mr. B won't forget all the doughnuts in his truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahaha

Yours in Christ-7

Please join the girls basketball team this evening (1-15-08) for a short FCA huddle led by Loyola huddle captain Brian Brandt after their game vs. Randolf at the Fitzgerald gym. Our FCA program continues to get stronger each day. We are stressing more involvement by all ages and genders  in our school system. At our last high school huddle, Rob Tanhoff gave a great prayer reading on F.O.R.. These letters stand for Focus, Respect, and Obey. Rob spoke so well on each word and how they affect his life in school and athletics. At our huddle in the intermediate school, seventh grader Jessi Van Blarcom spoke on the same prayer and did very well. We are very proud of of our FCA huddles and our leaders, Brian Brandt and Bobbi Jo Sellner. Our next huddles at school will be January 25th at Loyola-7:20 am., and February 7th at 8:05 am at Fitzgerald. All are welcome to attend!

Yours in Christ-Mr. Chris C. Biehn

You are welcome to join us for our next two FCA meetings this Thursday at 8:05 at Fitzgerald in the gym and at 7:20 am in the chapel area at Loyola. Our last meeting for our high school huddle was really neat. We had 14 student athletes-girls and boys there. We were challenged to go out and make a difference for someone during the day. The prayer for the huddle was titled "Stand". We had some very good discussion by all who attended. I am always impressed and feel so good the rest of the day when I leave these huddles. These meetings are open to anyone-teachers, coaches, student-athletes-parents ect.. It always good to hear other voices besides my own all the time. God Bless you and your family!

Huddle:
a close packed group; conference, to gather in a group, to crowd-gather-pile together-to gather in a circle. These are just a few of Websters' dictionary definitions of this word. We use it for our FCA groups as we "gather" together to share!

Yesterday,12-13-07, at our intermediate school meeting, we had over 80 students participate! Eighth grader Kelly Falgren,  gave a great reading on "Challenges" to our group. Kelly did a nice job of explaining to the group what the prayer meant to her and how it relates to her in everyday life. We had excellent participation by the whole group present at the huddle.

Today, 12-14-07, at our Loyola campus huddle, Captain Brian Brandt read and spoke about "Challenges" that athletes face everyday in school and outside of school. What a great reminder he gave the whole group about the fact that everyone has challenges and it is a matter of how you come to grips with them are how you handle these. We had a tremendous turnout this morning for this meeting.

I leave these meetings feeling so good about our participating youth and where they are with their faith. Thanks to Mrs. Reinbold and Mr. Landkamer for being Christian role models for our youth. Our next huddle for Loyola will be Thursday morning, 12-20-07, at 7:20 am in the Chapel area. Feel free to come join us. Merry Christmas to all!

Yours in Christ-Mr. Biehn

Please join our Boys basketball team for a short FCA huddle after every home game. The huddles will be lead by Mr. Landkamer and the players. What a great way to thank God for all our gifts!

Welcome to the Loyola/Fitzgerald FCA web page! FCA stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We are becoming very well known in southern Minnesota with our strong faith filled program. We are in our third year at Fitzgerald campus and into our first year long huddle at the Loyola campus. FCA is a program that allows all students involved in extra curriculars, of all faiths, to gather in an informal setting and express their beliefs and thoughts to one another regarding their hopes and dreams through prayer related discussions. FCA does not take the place of our Sunday obligation of worship nor does it require one to be of a specific religion. We meet every other week at both campuses. At Loyola, we meet on Thursday mornings at 7:20 am in the chapel area. At Fitzgerald, we meet every other Thursday starting at 8:05 in the gym. Each huddle lasts around thirty-five minutes.  The huddles are being led more and more by our students. Advisors for both campuses are Mrs. Reinbold, Mr. Landkamer, and Mr. Biehn. Our captain this year at Fitzgerald is eighth grader Bobbi Jo SellnerOur captain at Loyola is senior Brian Brandt .....Everyone is welcome to attend.

This past fall during the football season, besides our weekly practice FCA huddle, we initiated an added FCA postgame huddle. We invited parents, fans, and the other teams to join us in giving thanks to God for our many gifts. It was a huge success for our football team and school. After the Lake Crystal football game and our first playoff game against Granada Huntley East Chain, the entire members of each squad and their coaches and fans joined us for our post game huddle. What a great sight to see after a high school event. We received many positive comments to try and continue this throughout all our sports seasons. It seemed to help create more positive energy, a more positive image for our whole school system, and helped our fans and players respect our opponents, players, and fans better. We intend to continue this throughout the school year. We invite you to attend one of our huddles at either campus. Come and share your past and present experiences regarding extra curriculars. It is always good to hear new voices!

The advisors would like to thank Mr. O'Donnell, Head Football Coach Dan Rotchadl, and Helen Peterson for their tremendous support of our  programs.

God Bless your Athletes and family this Holiday Season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yours in Christ-Mr. Biehn
